After working with Giants Software on a great many projects over the years I was lucky enough to be invited to design the brand for their Giants Engine. The brief was to create a logo that evoked the feeling of a computer processor label, to show that whatever it was connected with was powered by their engine. A giant robot was chosen as the iconic symbol to represent the engine and to tie in with their name. Working with such an idea was so much fun and we settled on the concept of the robot from a bugs eye view to really bring home the ‘giant’ impression.
When creating a logo and overarching brand identity it is key to create an entire package that encompasses every element that the end user will ever encounter. Its essential that a brand design goes beyond just a logo or icon and becomes almost an entity and ethos in its own right. The combined elements that make up the brand must communicate the core values of the company or product and become instantly recognisable as part of the brand as a whole.
