Of all the well known and widely recognised brands that Fully Illustrated has been involved with over the years, the Discord brand is probably the most well known. Creating this now well established brand when the app was first being envisioned was a very exciting project indeed. We went through a large array of ideas before landing on the brand you see today but the hard work was well worth it. Creating an iconic and instantly recognised logo is never easy and requires a huge amount of groundwork and concept exploration. With the logo created we had to set in stone the overall brand direction which now can be seen on all manner of items from t-shirts and hoodies to computer cases and large expo installations.
Ethos
When creating a logo and overarching brand identity it is key to create an entire package that encompasses every element that the end user will ever encounter. Its essential that a brand design goes beyond just a logo or icon and becomes almost an entity and ethos in its own right. The combined elements that make up the brand must communicate the core values of the company or product and become instantly recognisable as part of the brand as a whole.
