This project was absolutely wonderful to work on.

The theme and visuals for this game are awe inspiring and I knew from the outset that creating the site for this was going to be a joy.

Capstan Games have gone to incredible lengths to keep this game historically accurate and that attention to detail oozes from every element you encounter. I was determined to include as much of this as possible within the designs intricate details. I sunk a huge amount of time into this one as you’ll see from the design here. I wanted the user to feel as though they were at sea and as you scroll down the design you go from above water around the ships to being submerged underwater within the depths of the ocean.

I also created some video transitions that trigger as you scroll, where air bubbles rise to the surface, mixing video footage and particle effects.

Ethos

Ahoy is a multiplayer maritime experience set in the late eighteenth-century Caribbean, where every ship is drawn from period sources and the world draws directly from current research on this pivotal setting. Sail with friends or strangers and navigate trade, conflict & survival.
